Some mascaras promise lengthening (which is straight forward to me) but I’m not sure about the ‘voluminous/volume’ part of mascaras.

voluming eyelashes it to make them look full and thicker

Volumising mascaras coat your lashes and make them look thicker. It’s no good if your lashes are long, but so thin that nobody can see them.
Personally I like to use 2 coats of a volumising mascara then a lengthening mascara on top for long AND thick lashes.
Volume is thickness and length is how long the mascara will make your eyelashes.
